Child protection arises when there are concerns that a child - under the age of eighteen - is at risk for being physically, emotionally or sexually harmed. Child protection agencies, also known as children's Aid societies may investigate cases if suspicion or evidence is provided. Children's Aid agencies will also get involved if the child is lacking basic needs (nutrition, shelter, clothing, etc), if the child is exposed to violence or danger and if the child is being or at risk for being physically, emotionally or sexually abused.
Child protection can be an extremely troublesome process, therefore legal advice will be of great assistance and a huge turning point for the client.
